Hi there! I’m Kaitlin, the President of Engineers Without Borders! I’m from NYC, and I love to support my communities and to travel. I joined EWB because I love this unique opportunity to apply the engineering themes we learn in class to real life, but, most importantly, to help others.

The community we’ve fostered at EWB-RPI is wonderful, because we are ultimately all connected by our passions for learning and helping others. Outside of EWB, I have been involved in multiple organizations on campus, serving as president of Rensselaer Panhellenic Council, Control Lab lead for Chem-E Car, co-founder of RPI Film Club, an RA, and a member of Alpha Gamma Delta. As president of EWB, my goal is to help us accomplish our club mission, as well as expand our presence on campus!

Hi, I’m Mateo (he/him), and I’m the vice-president of project management. I’m from Lima, Peru and am currently involved with the Panama Project. A little fun fact is that on campus I’m also involved with Partial Credit A Cappella and Swim Club, and am a brother of Lambda Chi Alpha.

Hi my name is Sophia (she/her)! I am the Vice President of Internal Operations this year. I’m from Auburn, MA and love to watch horror movies or play video games with my friends/go on little shopping adventures in the area. Alongside being part of the E-Board, I am also part of the Panama Project Team and have been for the past year. I joined EWB because I was aware of Doctors without Borders from TV shows I watched growing up but no way was I becoming a doctor so now I’m here 🙂 I also knew I would be able to make more of a difference through participation like this <3. I love EWB because it is a great community, the people are always so welcoming and we learn a lot about professional skills and networking through hands-on projects that you can’t really get anywhere else. I look forward to improving the internal ops sector of EWB, making sure we hold lots of fun events and are able to advertise ourselves well enough so we can grow our family through new potential members!

My name is Nick (he/him) and I’m from Enfield, NH. A fun fact about me would be that I have three adopted siblings. Currently I am serving as the VP of Finance for EWB as well as working on the local project. I joined EWB because it was a great way to meet new people and work with those people on projects that make a real change in the world. My goal for my role is to make sure all our trips are well budgeted this Spring.

Hi everyone! I’m Jake (he/him) and I’m going to be serving as Local Project Lead this semester! I’m from Newark, New Jersey and I love gardening and reading! I’m big into sociology and history and I also serve as an officer for the Pride Alliance. I joined EWB’s Local Project to help serve the community while improving my skills in engineering and organization. I look forward to bringing our shed-building project into its final stages with the Local team and finally building it for the Vasudha community. We hope to do big things this semester, so stay tuned :))

Hi I’m Cara (She/Her) and I’m the Uganda Project Lead. I’m from Poughkeepsie, NY. I love playing soccer, painting, and of course, being a part of EWB! I joined EWB in the spring of 2021 and I’ve loved being a part of the club ever since. This is an amazing organization that has given me the opportunity to work on impactful engineering problems with communities around the world, and I’m so excited to continue working with my team and lead our upcoming assessment trip to Uganda!

Hi everyone! My name is Hannah (she/her), and I am the Panama Project Lead. I’m from Corning, New York and I enjoy reading, writing, and playing ice hockey; you may also see me climbing trees. Of all the clubs on campus, EWB was the one I was sure I would join from the start, because it applies the things we learn in college in a way that matters for communities, local and abroad. It really is one of the best ways to help people and, for me, learn about leadership, design, and communication at the same time. This semester and the next, I hope to show that by completing our second implementation trip to Panama next spring alongside the other members of our team.

Hi! My name is Chloe Sharp (she/her), I am the Director of Club Experience for EWB this semester, and I am from Oxford, MS. Outside of EWB, I enjoy theater, baking, watching tv, and listening to Taylor Swift! I joined EWB in the fall of 2022 because I wanted to apply the skills I learn in my major to helping communities gain access to basic necessities; I am currently working on the solar project in Isla Pops II, Panama. During my time as Director of Club Experience, I hope to plan events that club members are excited about and help us form a tight-knit community as a club!

My name is Liam (he/him), and I am the new Director of Fundraising. I am from Honolulu, Hawaii, and I like surfing, reading books, and running with my family. I am involved with the Uganda project at EWB, and I joined to get involved with volunteering work that is related to engineering. So far, I have enjoyed getting to know everyone in the club and learning more about the other projects that people are involved with. I look forward to maintaining the fundraising team’s momentum from last semester in terms of events and grants, and I hope to actively involve our members in brainstorming and deliberating at our fundraising meetings. Hello, my name is Brianna (she/her), and I’m the Community Liaison for Engineers Without Borders! I’m from Western Massachusetts, and I enjoy reading, watching horror movies, gardening, and watching anime. Currently, I’m involved in the Panama project. I joined EWB because I wanted to be part of a community where I can apply my engineering skills to create solutions for global problems. I’ve had the opportunity to make many friends, both in my field and outside of it, and it has given me valuable real-world experience in the engineering process. Laura (she/her) Professional Liaison, Toms River, NJ. I like to dance and I’m apart of a dance club on campus and the Uganda Project her at EWB. I joined EWB because I want to make positive environmental impacts through engineering. I look forward to working with people from different backgrounds during my time on the eboard.

Hi my name is Clare (she/her) and I am the Membership Coordinator for EWB this semester! I am originally from Drogheda, Ireland, but I currently live in Walden, NY. In my free time I love to cook, bake, and play the guitar. I have been part of the Panama Project since my first semester at RPI and I love the little community that we have. I am so excited to get more involved in the club by being on E-Board this semester. I can’t wait to engage more with the current members, and reach out to recruit new members as well!

Hi I’m Amelia (she, her) and I’m the webmaster. I’m from Philadelphia, PA. I am a part of the Panama project. I joined ewb because I wanted to use my major to help communities. I love the community that EWB brings. As webmaster I’m looking forward to helping EWB organize to achieve all our goals!
