About Us

Engineers Without Borders-RPI is a non-profit club and chapter of the larger Engineers Without Borders organization EWB-USA.
EWB-USA

The Mission of Engineers Without Borders – USA:

EWB-USA supports community-driven development programs worldwide by collaborating with local partners to design and implement sustainable engineering projects, while creating transformative experiences and responsible leaders.

Engineers Without Borders – RPI:

EWB-RPI was founded in 2010 by Rensselaer students and has since grown to over 40 active members. Members contribute to technical design, fundraising, community relations, and chapter administration. Since November 2010, we’ve been organizing our first project in Bocas Del Toro, Panama. With the community of Isla Popa II we’re working on water supply and filtration for 250 people! For more information on our project, see the project page or contact our project lead. We are always actively looking for members to help contribute to our cause. Members do not necessarily need to be engineers. EWB-RPI makes it easy for any member to get as involved as they want.
Currently we have a team of 12 Officers in the Executive Board and 5 Professional Mentors from the Industry and Faculty.
