The Mission of Engineers Without Borders – USA:<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

EWB-USA builds a better world through engineering projects that empower communities to meet their basic human needs and equip leaders to solve the world’s most pressing challenges.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Engineers Without Borders USA – RPI:<\/span><\/span><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

EWB-USA RPI was founded in 2010 by Rensselaer students and has since grown to over 70 active members. Members contribute to technical design, fundraising, community relations, and chapter administration. Since November 2010, we’ve completed and closed out our first project in Bocas Del Toro, Panama. We designed and installed a water supply and filtration system for 250 people in the Isla Popa II community! We have continued our relationship with the community and are now working on a solar panel system for the school and church. In 2016, we also began a water distribution project in Nicaragua. We are working to provide water access to the houses in the community that lack this basic need.\u00a0Beginning just this past semester, the Uganda Project is working with the Buwooya, a village in the Bugweri district, to install an irrigation system to be used for farming during droughts by students of the Buyanga Primary School. Finally, our local project group works with a nearby non-profit organization to collect and supply rainwater to a nearby community garden. We are always actively looking for members to help contribute to our cause. Any RPI student, including non-engineers, are welcome in EWB. EWB-USA RPI makes it easy for any member to get as involved as they want.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n
