Currently EWB-RPI is working on starting a project in Troy, NY with Capital Roots. They are a local non-profit that has multiple community gardens for residents to grow crops in during the spring and summer months. We are hoping to construct a rainwater catchment system on a shed in their Hill Street Garden site. This will allow there to be an accessible water supply for the gardeners, since currently there is no water source nearby. Capital Roots has to take barrels down into Troy or travel a nearby spring to collect water currently. This project has recently received Community Engineering Corps approval.
